I just watched my Aunt's dog, one of the first dog's I've ever been close to, one of my friends for 13 years, die.
And I am a little fucking distraught.
And stand offish.
And pretty RAGEQUIT throughout the internet.

I feel like I've lost a best friend; I thought if I got some sleep I would feel better, but my heart still aches. As some of you already read half a dozen times in your lj, the voice for Mickey Mouse passed away. When I discovered this, I was so shocked it took me a moment to even pull my thoughts together to reply to the friend who had informed me. I've never met him, but I would have been floored to do so. The sad thing was, he was in his 60's... he had so much more life to give. Wayne has probably given Mickey's voice to most of the things I have seen of the mouse; and because of that heart warming voice, I felt connected to Mickey.
I'm hoping the torch will be passed to a man who can fill my heart with the same warmth and comfort. I hope that this person knows Mickey and personifies him correctly, like the three men before hand.
My condolences to his family... |

...So, I lost all the information on my lap top recently, if you haven't heard. And I suppose that is the main reason why I have no art to show, except for a commission I am working on. I'm not sure whether or not to reveal the piece while its not done.

So, I'm doing sketches for the TEX STORY when I decide to look up pictures to get a feeling of what I want.
Let me tell you what. Building an imaginary city/town/place? Its not as easy as it looks folks.
I have a problem. And that problem is, if I don't know what a place looks like, there is no way I can even start to want to draw a story. So I sit around for a good few hours clicking through pictures and trying to get an idea.
There should be a book on creating enviroments. Everyone wants to learn how to draw characters, but the real difficult part is trying to draw up an exciting world.
So, my question is, are there any books you think I could look up? Any web sites that have photos of exteriors, floor plans, interiors of houses? And what about cities/towns/ect? Or am I suppose to be guessing all of this. Its very confusing.
(Dani says its a good thing I worry about all of this but I feel so dorky wanting to make sure I get every detail right)
EDIT: I was wondering, if I did drawings of buildings/scenery would those be good to put in a future portfolio? |

Feel free to rip at it, and tell me what needs to be done to make my animation better. This was a basic test to see if I could do it on paper; I see some of my own mistakes, but, if you are a trained eye, opinions would be nice. |
